Databases
PAIS International and Archive is an extensive database for articles on public affairs.
- Select "descriptors" from the drop-down menu. [Descriptors are the same as subject headings in this database.]
- Search for: stem cell*. The asterisk is a "wildcard." It will search for descriptors beginning with those letters; in this case, stem cells and stem cell research.
- You may want to make your research more specific by adding a Keyword or Keywords on the second search line. For example, if you add: new jersey, you will get all of the articles with stem cells or stem cell research as Descriptors and the phrase new jersey anywhere in the record.
Worldwide Political Science Abstracts is a similar database that focuses on politics and political science. It uses the same
search interface as PAIS. Since there is no descriptor for stem cells in this database, search for stem cell* as a Keyword,
possibly combined with other Keywords.
