Multimedia Resources
Sharon A. Fordham Multimedia Resource Laboratory
The Sharon A. Fordham Multimedia Lab is based at the Douglass Library. The lab has twelve Mac computers intended for both the creation and manipulation of multimedia projects. The computers are equipped with Adobe software, a Video Editing Suite, and a Sound Editing Suite.
Help With Searching
Ask-A-Librarian
The Rutgers Libraries' "Ask-A-Librarian" service allows students to contact librarians via phone, e-mail,
or instant messaging. Students can also browse the FAQ and "How Do I
?" sections for answers to frequently
asked questions. A list of subject specialist librarians can be found at

This detailed guide to IRIS - Rutgers' online catalog - helps students get acclimated to the book, music, media and
microforms search system. After completing your online search, check the list of book location and sub-location codes
included in the guide to find the materials you need.
Locating a call number in Douglass Library
To find a call number you must first note the location of that call number. Most circulating materials are located in the
STACKS in the lower two levels (Ground and Ravine):
A thru HC110.PW32 - East Room
HC110.PW45 thru PQ2607.05A7 - West Room
M - Music Library, Ravine level
PQ 2635 thru Z - West Room, in old Periodicals Section.
All Reference - Reference Room
Music and Media collections are located on the Ravine level.
NOTE: All books listed in this research guide (except those located in other libraries) are located at the Douglass Reserve Desk.

To find a call number you must first note the location of that call number. Most circulating materials are located in the
STACKS in the North Wing, and are distributed as follows:
A thru HD2320 - Level 2A
HD2321 thru PQ - Level 2B
PR thru Z (also JUV, ED-LAB, & FOLIO) - Level 3
From the first floor, take the off-white elevator in the Government Publications area.

Use the phrases below to search IRIS, Rutgers' online library catalog. Choose "SUBJECT keyword" or "SUBJECT begins with" in
the "IRIS Quick Search" menu.
Try choosing IRIS' "Advanced Search" option to combine subject headings with additional keywords. Additional thematic
subject headings appear within each category's research guide.
