Guest borrowing privileges are extended to faculty, staff, and graduate students at participating VALE libraries.

A description of the VALE agreement, instructions for faculty, staff, and graduate students, and a list of participating libraries are available on the VALE web page: http://www.valenj.org/. (Ask your supervisor for the user ID and password needed to access the "for librarian use only" policy and application form.)

Borrowers must present a signed "VALE Faculty Reciprocal Borrowing Application Form" from their home library and a photo ID. Register with GUEST profile, VALE demographic stat, home address and email addresses in both Address 1 and 2, and a 6/30/yyyy expiration date. Issue a plastic RUL guest borrower card with patron's name on the card and give them a "Alumni and Community Borrowing Privileges" brochure. Privileges are for the current academic year only and always expired on 6/30; borrowers must renew annually with an updated, signed application form from their home library.

Place the "Vale Faculty Reciprocal Borrowing Application Form" in a campus mail envelope and address to Judy Gardner, Admin/Alex, CAC.

The VALE (Virtual Academic Library Environment of New Jersey) Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Agreement replaces the NJALN (New Jersey Academic Libraries Network and Council of Two-Year College Libraries) agreement. Refer Rutgers faculty and staff wishing to apply for guest privileges at one of the VALE participating libraries to Julie Still (Camden), Ann Watkins (Newark), and Judy Gardner (New Brunswick), for validation and an application form.
