***Alumni Courtesy Notice: Alumni with checkouts***

Dear Rutgers Graduate,

Congratulations on your recent degree from Rutgers University! If you are continuing with graduate studies at Rutgers, your student borrowing privileges and current checkouts (below) remain in effect.

If you've graduated and are no longer a student at Rutgers, please note that you still have these items checked out. If you wish to continue to use these materials, please visit the circulation desk of any Rutgers library to obtain an alumni library card. Bring along a form of photo identification and a Rutgers Alumni ID card available from a campus Alumni Office.

You can use your alumni library card to check out up to twenty-five books for a four week loan period from any Rutgers University library (except for the law libraries in Camden and Newark). Alumni library cards are good for one year and need to be renewed annually. Your alumni card will not, however, enable you to connect from off campus to library databases and electronic journals that are licensed for the use of current Rutgers students, faculty, and staff only. You may visit any Rutgers library and use licensed databases on-site at public access workstations. You can also visit the Rutgers Alumni Library website http://www.libraries.rutgers.edu/rul/alumni/index.shtml to search or browse the Libraries' catalog and a large collection of general and specialized databases.

If you do not plan to visit the libraries in the near future, please bear in mind that you remain responsible for the material currently checked out to you. When library material becomes forty days overdue, an academic hold will be placed on your transcripts; at six months overdue you will receive a bill for replacement costs. We recommend that you return the library material you've checked out before they reach this overdue stage. You may return library material by U.S. mail or a delivery service (UPS, FedEx). If you return the material in person, we will be pleased to issue you an alumni library card. It is also your responsibility to inform the library promptly of any change in your address.

For further information on alumni guest borrowing privileges, please visit http://www.libraries.rutgers.edu/rul/lib_servs/guest.shtml#reg

For a list of libraries and their hours, please visit http://www.libraries.rutgers.edu/rul/h_and_d/h_and_d.shtml

Graduation certainly has its privileges, and one of them is selected access to the resources and services of the Rutgers University Libraries. Our librarians and staff look forward to meeting your future needs.
