1) All RDS Staff: Check local hold shelf for item. If there, run the Check Item Status wizard, scan the barcode, and make the hold available.
2) a. New Brunswick/Piscataway:If not found, staff should contact the ILS Borrowing Coordinator at Interlibrary Loan Services for further investigation. The Borrowing Coordinator will initiate a hold shelf search at all libraries. If found, please place in RUL mail for delivery to patron's pickup library and notify Borrowing Coordinator.
b. Dana/Camden: If not found, RDS staff should contact local interlibrary loan staff or whoever processes incoming PALCI books. If not found locally, local staff will initiate a hold shelf search at all libraries. If found, please place in RUL mail for delivery to patron's pickup library. If not found, please notify the ILS Borrowing Coordinator.
3) If not found on the hold shelf of any RUL library, the Borrowing Coordinator will then
initiate a system-wide stack search for the item, providing the lending library's local call
number to aid in this search. If found, please place in RUL mail for delivery to patron's
pickup library and notify Borrowing Coordinator.
Borrowing Coordinator will also contact the lending library to determine if the item has already been returned to them. If the item has been returned, a new request will be placed for the patron.
