Electronic Resources
Responsibilities
The Electronic Resources Team is responsible for the investigation and acquisition of electronic
resources. As an integral part of the RUL Serials Team, the Electronic Resources Management Team
provides expertise on accessing databases, electronic journals and packages. Licensing, access set up
and maintenance as well as trouble shooting and problematic order resolutions are handled by the
Electronic Resources Team. Management of the access urls and content on the RUL website is also
coordinated through this group. Additionally, the team coordinates with TAS for e-book orders and
packages.
- Requests for new online resources are investigated and acquired

Online requests via the Serials Team listserv or Networked Resources Request forms submitted by
selectors for new digital resources are processed by the Electronic Resources team
- Management of the entire electronic resource acquisitions process

Access criteria, price, and license requirements are investigated following a selector's request in
order to confirm details prior to the electronic resource acquisition
Online access for each resource is established in coordination with the Libraries' Systems' staff, web
master and catalogers to see each digital resource through to full accessibility on IRIS, and through
the RUL website and A-Z listing
- Continuous access of online resources is monitored and maintained

Through inquiries from patrons, librarians and staff throughout the system, the Electronic Resources
team investigates, trouble-shoots and resolves online resource subscription and access issues
including: title and publisher changes as well as changes in providers and urls
- Database and Journal Usage Statistics

COUNTER compliant, as well as non-COUNTER stats are gathered and maintained by the Electronic
Resources Team
- Maintenance of ERMS

Serials Solutions suite of Electronic Resource Management product products are used for monitoring and
maintaining electronic resource acquisition, licensing, access and statistics details
