J. Gardner called the meeting to order at 9:35 am. The agenda was adopted. The minutes of the May meeting were approved.
There was no news to report.
The Planning & Coordinating Committee's (PlanCo) New Liaison Roles for Librarians document was distributed. Since the May meeting, three additional roles had been added to the original three:
Discussion followed on the necessary skills and training required for each role, and on examples of activities supporting each role. J. Gardner will draft another version of the list and distribute to PlanCo for comments.
J. Boyle provided the top choices for leadership programs, which were presented at the June Faculty meeting. If PlanCo members find additional leadership programs, they should contact J. Gardner. J. Gardner will add additional suggestions to the core list and pass it to incoming Faculty Coordinator J. Niessen, who will work with the process of application and selection with 2011-12 PlanCo.
There was no new business.
M. Gaunt had nothing additional to report. RUL is looking for a definitive answer on whether the potential legislation on residency and benefits for state workers will impact the Libraries.
PlanCo will meet twice during the summer, under the leadership of incoming Faculty Coordinator J. Niessen.
