Meeting called to order: 10:10 a.m. Meeting adjourned: 11:30 a.m. Next meeting date: January 13, 2009 Time: 10:00 a.m. Location: LSM

1. The November minutes were approved with minor spelling corrections.
2. The group discussed accepting the online bibliographic record as the root record for monographs, including Y4s, where there are multiple records in Workflows for the same title. Procedures already established for serial root records would not change. Order of preference for monographic root records would be: online, print, microform.
3. The group reviewed established guidelines for unit processing of duplicate records. Changes were suggested to incorporate the monograph root record concept. Minor changes were suggested for the SERMARPEN processing guide.
Database Mangement Team will return root record requests to DTS for titles that are still in their pipeline. DTS will handle routine holdings transfers, deletions or batch withdrawal of duplicate records.
Stephanie Bartz will add the online loads to the monograph split tables beginning with the November 2008 MON-NEW- OL and MON-CNG-OL files.
Ellen Calhoun will contact Mary Beth Weber regarding preference hierarchies for monograph root record creations.
Paul Cabelli will update the two procedural documents discussed in the meeting for posting to the staff web page.
Stephanie Bartz will request a report of SERMARPEN titles from Bob Warwick, and the Serials Team will begin cataloging based on creation dates.
Respectfully submitted January 9, 2009
