DOCS SIG Meeting Notes

• invite Stephanie Bartz to be member of group
• invite local collection/technical services personnel on as-needed basis
• SIG will concentrate on policy decisions; act as advocate for documents issues; identify projects that can be completed; identify loose ends that need to be addressed/completed; identify collection/technical services projects that can be addressed by local staff
• at next mtg, group will work with Hemmasi to formulate charge, goals for the year
• review impact of Camden's reduction in its documents' collection
• Hemmasi will ask Systems' staff to revise output of reports containing US and NJ document cataloging records in IRIS

NJ documents:

• is report title or item-level report?
• if item-level report, produce title report (if possible)
• sort by titles that belong to Camden but not Dana

US documents:

• is report title or item-level report?
• if item-level report, produce title report (if possible)
• sort by titles that belong to Camden but not Dana
• include series (tag 4XX) in print-out
• include SU-DOC number (tag 086) in print-out

• review procedures for adding electronic access to existing cataloging records or creating records for electronic-only documents
• review cost of Marcive tape load of all federal documents, July 1976-, and ongoing subscription cost; explore alternate means of access
