STAFF RESOURCES |
1. Minutes from February meeting were reviewed. They were accepted without change. Linda will send minutes to Sam McDonald.
2. Enumeration/Chronology in the Serials Inventory Project - It is not uncommon for the spines of bound volumes to indicate volumes, months, and years. Often the issues themselves are printed with volume, number, month, and year. In our holdings work we normally try to use numbers instead of months. For this reason it is recommended that we look inside bound volumes to see if numbers are present anywhere in the issue. If present, use numbers in MARC holdings and item lines. If absent, use months.
3. Status of Projects
Jamie:
Melody - will update bound-with document to add serial-within-a-series processing instructions
Neera - work progressing normally
Linda - finished condensing the Alex RR collection
Paul - work progressing normally
Dean - will add spreadsheet on Alex T-Drive (Alex Coll) for duplicates w/'condition' listed
Fatima - is removing index tables at Dana and relocating material to stacks (Jamie will notify Yuhwei in case it affects current periodical checkin)
John - reference weeding will begin soon (selectors are receiving their lists)
4. Other Comments - Dean asked if Director's Station was capable of creating a report containing LCPER titles having no MARC holdings. Jamie said she would look into it.
1. Use numbers, if available, in place of months on MARC holdings and item lines for the Serials Inventory Project
