Minutes of Friday, November 2, 2001 Meeting

Agenda Items

Revising IRIS search screen -- an alternate version of the present screen was agreed upon and Bob W. will investigate the feasibility of our proposed changes

Periodical Holdings -- the committee agreed that having as much information as possible regarding periodical holdings on one record was the best option. Duplicate records for a title may confuse and frustrate users.

New Unicorn Release -- Bob W. distributed information on the forthcoming Unicorn release. IPAC will look over this information and discuss it at the next meeting.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, Nov. 27th at 2:00. Still will participate via phone

Addendum

IRIS changes to be made:

• eliminate relevancy ranking
• make the date appear in normal font rather than bold
• remove sublocations from search search results screen, but do list all

Owning libraries no matter what the status of the item

• remove all copy information
• change the color of the "change your search words' box to blue, and move it so that it appears after the line that tells you what you searched
• remove cross-reference button, but leave text "there are also other headings for searching"
• [computer file] will soon change to [electronic resource]
• fix email/download; email/capture; print/capture -- need uniformity
• change exit button to say exit IRIS
