The faculty bylaws have been changed, so that the LCC representative to USC no longer has to be the chair of LCC. Stephanie will stay on as long as issues related to the catalog are on the agenda. When that is no longer true, another member of LCC may serve as the representative.
Minimal progress toward goals during Jan-June 2013 largely due to committee membersí responsiveness to current library, primarily integration, issues. Reviewed each goal to verify.
Two recent error reports complained that RUL didnít own the format shown in the browse list (e.g., Drug information journal (Online) or Environment and society (Print)). Happens because the 776 field is indexed based on a decision made years ago to catch title differences between print and online. No longer considered necessary since the differences would likely be indexed elsewhere.
Bob will remove the 776 from the title browse index. All of the records that include a 776 will need to be reindexed, so it may take some time for all of the 776s to disappear from the browse list.
Committee reviewed the changes being made in the test catalog.
A separate UMDNJ portal has been set up to search only RWJ, SMITH, and UMD-ONLINE.
User guide for Rutgers Catalog has been updated with UMDNJ information (i.e., libraries, sub-locations, type-circulate codes, medical subject search options, etc.). The guide will be further reviewed once all of the changes to the Catalog are in place.
An Export to EndNote feature is being developed for the UMDNJ portal. Once thatís done the additional export option will be added to the Rutgers Library Catalog.
Considered whether there needs to be a ďThis Just InĒ section for UMDNJ materials. Will reconsider once the integration is complete and need can be better assessed.
ILS will begin unshadowing UMDNJ records beginning tomorrow, June 21.
Deadline extended to end of June. Meeting of committee is tomorrow, June 21. Email will be sent out when trials are ready to be tested by all.
