- most critical services during IRIS downtime are reserves, requests, charging
and discharging books
- EEBO records will be loaded in batches (no downtime; records will be indexed
immediately)
- LIS Committee recommended annual re-indexing for IRIS which would require
approximately four days (backup = 5 hrs; rebuild of indexes = 78 hours; backup
= 5 hrs); the timeframe for this backup should be negotiated depending on
university schedule
- review of and plan for enhancement process:
- Get staff read-only access
- LIS set data structure for enhancement process
- ask each group for additions to enhancement list representing their module
- LIS review suggested enhancements
- Send reviewed suggestions to Systems
- Systems will respond to suggestion, either by posting suggestion or by
reporting as a software problem

- LIS Training Coordinator -
full support was voiced by LIS members to continue position of LIS Training
Coordinator; the Training Coordinator has consistently spent 50% of her time on
this position; has set up rooms; helped with mechanics of training and
knowledge of content; because of this position, trainers can spend time on
content; important part of learning organization; ongoing need for this
position due to frequent upgrades and the fact that the LIS affects everyone
within RUL
