Agenda
- Review the format change process
- Review the title change process & last to binds
- Springer titles
1. Format Change Process
- For LSM & ALEX, the normal procedure is to give the material to the Receiving Coordinator (Sal/Yuhwei) regardless of the type of format (i.e. gov. doc., serial, etc.) for investigation.
- Robeson library would like clarification of official process as it pertains specifically to their workflow. CAMDEN & DANA can send an email to the Serials Team (RUL_Serials@email.rutgers.edu) with any questions or potential format changes so they can be funneled to the appropriate person.
- Government documents for CAMDEN & DANA should be filtered out as either gifts or subscriptions. Subscriptions are given higher priority due to the fact they are being paid for. Government documents go through the normal workflow; everything else can be emailed to the Serials Team. Gifts go through Bib/Cat for the format change process.
- Thus far, CAMDEN & DANA have not had many format changes to process.
- Additionally, publisher changes should be noted because the URL may change for online access with a different publisher. The bib record should be updated via Bib/Cat.
2. Title Change Process
- It is important to make sure the shelf labels are being pulled.
- CAMDEN & DANA stated that they know the title change and last to bind processes. LSM & ALEX personnel also agreed that they are familiar with the procedures.
- CAMDEN copies the documentation of a title change and sends it to Elizabeth in cataloging as well.
3. Springer Titles
- Not all Springer titles have been cancelled in print. If the control looks fine and there is no cancellation note then it is ok to check in the journal. For the issues being received in print that are supposed to be online only, give them to the Receiving Coordinators (Sal/Yuhwei).
- Kluwer titles for 2005 are online only, but we have been receiving some print versions as well. Springer has since bought out Kluwer and the selectors are being contacted regarding whether or not to keep the print versions that we receive.
- For 2006, Springer has changed pricing and is no longer providing online only access. They have started giving print issues as well so there is no longer an e-only option.
- Sal will cover what DANA should do with the duplicates on his next visit there.
