Judy will be providing an outline of assignments for the testing of Symphony 3.2.1 and will contact the relevant group coordinator’s that testing may begin. Andrew Ruggiero at Douglass has loaded the test system on the Instructor’s terminal in the instructional alcove so allowing for the screen shot to be displayed via projector, and on the many computer terminals in the alcove. As a result many more Reserve group members will be able to join in the testing if they so choose. The next meeting will be devoted to testing and any who care to join to take part in the process are welcome. Additionally, the test system has been cleaned of all the old records so that working on our testing assignment should be less cluttered with old testing records.
Stephanie Bartz expressed concerns with the way the reserves search feature via IRIS was working. The staff attending the meeting concluded that IRIS’s search is very sensitive to specific key phrases and searches. The standard procedure being used for reserves is to directly copy the course title from the schedule of classes’ page. We assist any students who are having difficulty locating their class reserves with a bit of investigation; either by instructors name, course number, or class title. Another possible cause of variations of course titles may be that some courses were created before the standardization. Upon continued discussion, the group expressed interest in inviting Stephanie to attend a future reserves group meeting to discuss a potential solution.
Eva, Penny, and Zohreh reviewed web pages, and discovered that three pages needed to be updated. Revisions were sent to Sam McDonald, and have been updated. The documents with screen shots of Workflows require RUL only access due to for contractual restrictions with SIRSI. Sam also asked if we have any more with screens to let him know so he can restrict access to those also. Penny will review the pages again and respond to Sam.
