This item was tabled as the topic of possible reduced branch hours is still under review
Web site documentation, letters and forms - 7 documents were reviewed. Under Book Reserve Services on the web site, it was decided to remove the copyright information from this location and add a summary of the new services or provide a link to this information. The Online Reserves Request Form was revised to apply to physical items only. On the Find Reserves page the copyright information and the link to e-reserves user guide and tutorial should be removed. Maybe we should add a link to new information on this page. At the Faculty Services Guide and FAQ pages changes should reflect removal of references to electronic reserves. The Reminder letter to Faculty sent each semester will refer only to physical reserves. Also the hard copy of the Reserves Request form kept at each library should be changed to remove requests for e-reserves. In addition, Ask A Librarian responses will need to be edited and Staff Resources pages will need to be revised at a later date.
Letter to be sent to Faculty/Instructors - The draft was reviewed and a few amendments were suggested. Timing of the introduction of the new service, together with reasonable notice provision to Faculty was discussed. If implementation is approved for Fall 2011, a letter should be sent out to Faculty/Instructors in January 2011.
Meeting with ILL and Imaging Services - a new service to provide Book Chapters for Faculty/Staff through ILLIAD was discussed. This may require a new form for placing these requests. Books will not be recalled to scan chapters. A new ILLIAD release is forthcoming which may impact this issue.
Procedures for Media Reserves - John is working on this document. Some Faculty/Instructors don't use the Music reserves form but instead use the Media or Douglass request form. Many also use and refer students to the Naxos Music Library on the databases instead of requesting a reserve.
ILLIAD user interface revisions - adding a Book Chapter request service will be the main revision to the interface. This will also impact the FAQ section of the web site. Judy asked group members to consider if a name change to the User Interface would be appropriate to encompass the new service to Faculty to provide electronic course readings for Sakai or Blackboard.
Next meeting is on September 15, 2010, 3pm, TSB Conference Room
