Announcements
Group welcomed Roger Smith and Penny Weniger to this month's meeting.

Maintenance Concerns

- - Nothing new reported
- Alexander
- - All lights were replaced in the Undergraduate Reading Room and the lighting is now sufficient in the whole area. Zohreh suggested that all units check their lighting.
- - REHS wants to remove one window to determine if an asbestos problem exist, and then remove all the windows in the old wing stacks area in May 2005. One window was removed for testing. This window has been sealed with wood and plastic sheeting from the inside.
- - he Collection Management Functional Group is reviewing a proposal to allow coffee in sealed containers for drink only. For now the policy remains only water in a closed container is allowed in the library.

- Art
- - Staff did not have a key to Emergency Detex Exit door alarms at Art library. In one occasion when an alarm went off staff could not turn off the alarm on the emergency exit door. This problem was reported and one key was made that matches all the Emergency Exit Doors. The Emergency Exit doors have been tested and they are functioning properly now.

- - Ramon reported that the security camera is not working properly. It is the responsibility of Public Safety and Penny will speak to Officer Pitt. Penny will also verify the maintenance schedule with Officer Pitt.
- - Security workshop for extended hours students and staff: Penny reported on the workshop conducted by Officer Pitt who is the community officer for Douglass library. NBL students and staff attended this worthwhile presentation given by a very caring officer. Handouts were distributed and there was a question and answer period. Penny would like to have the workshop offered at least once a semester. It was suggested to conduct the workshop for all NBL student staff at the Douglass library.

- - Emergency Exit door was stuck and could not be opened properly. Outside contractors have been contacted to work on fixing the door. Vision mirrors were installed in the right and left rear corners of the first floor. They are especially helpful for securing the building at closing.

- - The search is on going to purchase the exact model that Alexander library has, which is the same model that was tested at all units.

- - There is a problem with the metal bar window at LSM/CSD, 3rd floor. It shakes and makes noises as it opens and closes. It has been reported to Kristi Conover.
- - Ceiling tiles on the 2nd floor have a structural defect and have been reported.

- - The carpet burned where the light fell light has been replaced.
- - Technician is evaluating the non-functioning video camera.
