Create a "tool kit" to help selectors do their work. The tool kit will be a webpage that gathers together relevant RUL information including policies and procedures; workflow of patterns from selection, acquisitions, cataloging,; names of selectors and other useful contacts; committees, task forces and working groups; statistics about collections; collection evaluation tools; and useful "outside links" to similar information such as ARL statistics, collection development statements from peer institutions, committees and projects of other organizations -ALA, RLG, OCLC, etc.
The task force should work from two perspectives: what technical staff knows the selectors should know and what the selectors think they need to know. These two perspectives will surely come together in the end.
In addition to the compilation of this information, the task force should experiment with different ways for presenting it - graphical, textual. A working model should be completed by June 2006.
