J. Cassel distributed "Chronology of RUL Instruction Activities," a document outlining instruction activities at RUL from 1981 through the present.
Cassel outlined a proposal for the ISC to be reorganized as follows:
T. Kuchi commented on the need for communication between the ISC and the rest of RUL during this transition.

R. Marker and J. Niessen gave an overview of the online form used to submit an article to RUCore. J. Niessen distributed a document, "Submitting your Article to RUCore: a Decision Tree."
Marker and Niessen announced that RUCore is ready to accept articles, dissertations and theses, scholarly works of enduring value (including sound files, photographs, text files, and moving image files). E-journal development is on the list of goals, and science data sets are a long term goal. Priorities for RUCore are Rutgers material.
Marker outlined the use of custom portals, by which individuals or departments can move all the documents they have loaded to RUCore onto their own website, with RUCore still hosting the information. Items available in RUCore are also available in Google. Availability in Google Scholar is being pursued.
J. Gardner gave a presentation on resource sharing statistics. This included statistics on the Rutgers Delivery Service, lending via JerseyCat and OCLC, EZ-Borrow, SHARES, Rapid ILL, and Interlibrary Loan.
N. Borisovets announced that IPAC is developing a new books page. The page will be updated monthly and will highlight books that have recently been added to IRIS. The page will be broken down by subject area, and will include links to IRIS records for the new books.
C. Sterback gave a reminder about the OLE webcast in the SCC at 3:00, Nov. 20th. In December, RUL will be hosting two sets of two-day workshops on OLE. On January 2, 2009, IRIS will be updated.
J. Cassel announced the upcoming program, "Reflecting on Library Instruction," sponsored by the Instructional Services Committee. The program will be held December 2, 2008, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., in the Alexander Library. Sara Harrington will be the featured speaker, and will present on "The Teacher-Librarian: Reflections from ACRL Immersion."
The next meeting of the User Services Council will be Thursday, December 18th and 9:30 a.m. Agenda items include:
