A. Progress reports
The prototypes for the revised secondary Indexes pages (Alpha and Subject) were reviewed. After some extended and animated discussion of the design process, the revised pages were approved with a couple of minor changes. The two choices will now say "Rutgers restricted access" and "Unrestricted access." These pages are expected to be rolled out in January 2001.
There are some problems with links on the existing subject indexes pages - links to the multidisciplinary and general indexes are not consistent between the subject disciplines,
More than a dozen new databases are in the pipeline; the information gaps will be addressed.
L. Murtha will be presenting a proposal to the Public Services Council for facilities and tools required by the instructional program of the Libraries. Members of the ISC are also interested in attending a training workshop in Plattsburg in Summer 2001.
There will be a workshop in late January 2001; the agenda will be forthcoming.
M.Kesselman demonstrated several examples of personalized library Webpage services. Questions raised included link management, privacy of personal data, and the relationship to Rutgers University's own plans for personalized Web services.
