Relocation Instructions for Incoming Employees
Congratulations on your new position at RUL! The next order of business is getting you
moved to the job as painlessly as possible.
Your total relocation amount was settled at the time the offer of position was extended.
Once you have that information in hand, you should take the following steps as soon as possible:
- Consult Rutgers Policy Section 60.16 on Employee Relocation. These are the guidelines and procedure that the Libraries will follow in relation to your move and adherence is mandatory. Please pay special attention to the section on taxability of moving expenses.
- Contact Donna Kessler of RUL's Budget Office at 732-932-7505 or
email@example.com. Donna will advise and coordinate the particulars of your move with both University personnel and outside vendors. The choices that you make regarding selection of expenses and reimbursement versus University approved moving companies are best discussed with her.
- Complete and return any University forms or documents you are asked to complete as soon as possible. Please direct any questions you may have to Donna Kessler.
Please keep in mind that the time between date of written offer and the start date is often fairly short. Therefore it is
critical that moving arrangements be handled as expeditiously as possible. We assure you that RUL will do its best to ensure
that happens and we ask that you assist us in this endeavor by acting promptly on all issues associated with your move.
