Chair's Report
- RefWorks Workshops to be held March 8 & 29 at Alexander
- CTAAR led; session open to all
- RUL may like to be more involved (not just provide space); will discuss further as date approaches
- May want to change/update the RefWorks FAQ on the libraries page
- Fourth Annual Rutgers Online Hybrid Learning Conference
- University interested in tens of thousands of students learning online
- RUL may want to petition for more ebook and other online resources in support of this interest
AUL's Report
- Instructional Design and Chemistry/Physics librarian positions have been posted
- Music librarian position is being reviewed for posting language
- Joe Consoli to retire Mar 1; party Mar or Apr
- Rebecca Gardner has moved from Chang to Kilmer
- New doors installed to facilitate Graduate Reading Room extended hours
- RU/UMD Libraries integration team meeting next week
- Must investigate combined catalog and unified web presence
- Marianne will hold an all faculty/staff meeting at a later date to discuss progress
- RIS computing specialist responsibilities being evaluated, specifically the hours of support provided to RIS vs. IIS initiatives
Writing Program Instruction

- Looking to improve English 201 instruction, including videos
- Difficult to accommodate all the classes due to limited time and labor
- RIOT has been split into five parts to facilitate quicker access to separate sections
- Added answer guide for faculty
- Make sure to link to LibGuide videos to keep sections updated - do not copy
- Another source of videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/lsmlibrarian
- One library session will be given per class. Ideally students come in prepared to search after a brief session by the librarian reinforcing the videos, RIOT tutorials and assignments the students have already completed.
Discovery Service Vendor Selection

- OCLC dropped as a candidate; Summon, Ebsco, and Primo Central remain
- Deadline advanced to Apr 2013
- Surveys will be sent to vendors and peer institutions
- Rubric for scoring products has been established
Mid-Year Report: NBISG Activities
- Research assistance improvements
- New 848-932-6000 phone number recording has been submitted
- 26000 will serve as the number for New Brunswick, with the Camden and Newark numbers listed as menu options for those campuses
- Group would like the three main numbers added to the libraries website, ideally in a prominent place such as the main footer and/or on the Ask a Librarian page
- Revamp research assistance
