Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the University Librarian, the Associate University Librarian for Instruction and Research Services is a member of the University Librarian's Cabinet, the senior management team of the Rutgers University Libraries. The position is responsible for leading the development of a shared vision for the Libraries' instructional and research service programs across the three campuses of the university in a rapidly changing environment. The AUL will be responsible for the planning, policies, and practices of library services relating to research, instruction, and information services, including reference, information literacy/instruction, access services, inter-library loan and document delivery, imaging services, multimedia Services, remote/distance learning, and the web presence of the Libraries. The AUL will work closely with other members of the University Librarian's Cabinet, academic administrators, and the library and teaching faculty to plan and deliver new services that enhance the research and instructional programs of the university. The AUL will have direct management responsibility for the facilities and public service operations of the seventeen New Brunswick/Piscataway campus libraries and 40 library faculty and 84 staff. Represents the Libraries within the university, the state, and on national committees and forums in these areas.
