Systems is finishing the reimaging of the public machines and classrooms. The mini flash drives that can plug into a USB port will work with the new image.
There have been some problems with the upgrade to Netscape 7.1 on staff machines in TSB, particularly with deleting emails. These problems should be worked out by February so that Systems can finish with these upgrades.
The revised document is attached. If no one posts any further suggestions to the PCWG list, then the document will be posted to the PCWG Best Practices site.
The group discussed the draft. Next month, Nick will supply some server statistics so that we can suggest appropriate size allocations for S: and T:. This will be incorporated into the document.
Darryl handed out a draft of the new brochure he has created on using the Cannon Micro Reader Scanners. Once completed, print copies will be distributed throughout the library system and a PDF version will be posted online.
It can take at least 20 minutes to format a CD-R on the public machines. Some units are considering posting signs encouraging users to bring in pre-formatted CDs for saving.
The next meeting is scheduled for February 17, 2004 back at TSB.
