Minutes of September 21, 2004 Meeting

Present:

1. Systems Update

The Office 2000 installs are generally done. Systems is working on network printing for wireless in the libraries. New disability pcs will be installed in New Brunswick this month.

2. Review of July PCWG Meeting

Tabled till next month.

3. Status of Training Program

Tabled till next month.

4. Public PC Image Suggestions

John suggested that we transfer the instructions for downloading to a CD on public pcs to a web page so that a shortcut to this web page can be added to the next image. A note on downloading to USB thumb drives should be included as well. Another suggestion for the desktop was for a Powerpoint viewer.

We also discussed the possibility of instructions on mapping to web drives, but this would likely be campus-specific.

5. Old/New Business

Problems with the Windows login box in New Brunswick were discussed.

The copy center will begin to sell 32M USB thumb drives for $15.

Systems recommends leaving the public pcs on to allow for Windows and Virus .DAT file updates.

6. Future Meeting Dates

The next meetings are scheduled for October 19th, November 16th, and December 21st at 10AM in TSB.
