We went over the training documents we have been preparing for our collaboration with Marilyn Wilt who joined us for this part of the meeting. We set priorities for the order in which the documents should be presented. Au volunteered to code the documents so they can be posted as web pages under the Best Practices section of the PC Working Group section of the RULS web site. Ann B. will update her general welcome message and post it to the list for comments. The other missing piece of documentation, a general introduction to using email at Rutgers, Ann will assign to a Systems' staff member. Marilyn will schedule a test training session for library staff hired since September during the week of January 25th.
The new public images are ready to be installed. All languages will be installed this time.
The public machines are due to go off warranty on January 21, 2005. Ann stressed that this is the last chance for changes, and that coordinators should file trouble tickets for any problems before that date – including minor things like stuck keys on a keyboard or mouse problems.
The ticket system will be moved to a different server this week.
The supported hardware list needs to be updated and will be a priority for early 2005.
The annual mandatory Novell password change will be scheduled for the week of January 10, 2005 – probably on Tuesday the 11th. Nick will send out email reminders in advance.
The next meeting is scheduled for January 18. As usual, on Tuesday, 10AM in the TSB Conference Room.
