All public machines purchased through elf funding have been reimaged for the spring semester.
McAfee was upgraded to version 8 and is running in background although it is not in the task tray. Reasearch Insight .dat files were updates. Scifinder Scholar was upgraded to 2004.2. Luna was upgraded to version 5, and a second Luna icon was added for class use. LPTOne was upgraded to version 3.12. SecurePC and Deepfreeze were both upgraded. Microsoft viewers for Word, Excel and Powerpoint were added as was language support for all languages. In addition, Cyrillic and Hebrew language input locales were added, and the task tray was unlocked to allow for the switching of languages prevent the stopping of flash drives.The problem with Adobe generating an error when opening some documents was fixed. Microsoft Critical updates were installed. The public desktop wallpaper was changed.
The following machines are left to be imaged by mid February:
Dana's e-class will be reimaged for the spring semester. It was not reimaged last year and so needs it. LSM and Camden will be reimaged at some point before the fall semester--both were reimaged within the last year. Acrobat suite will be upgraded on e-res machines when software has been received. SCC IHL machines will be picked up week of 1/18 and redistributed during the spring semester. Ariel 4.0 upgrade is being rescheduled due to compatibility issues with ILLManager/Ariel software.Acrobat upgrade for ILS machines to be done by 1/31.
Marilyn Wilt will hold the pilot session on January 28th 10AM at IHL. PC Coordinators are welcome to attend the session and the lunch afterwards. Email Marilyn if you plan on attending.
