CAT/SET/A Example 1

Multiple volumes, Same series number for all volumes

This example shows a two volume set with both volumes sharing the same range of series numbers. The volumes are distinguished with the labels "Part 1" and "Part 2" on the covers and title pages of each piece respectively.

NOTE: The range of volumes in CALL (or LCAL) is connected with a forward slash ("/") rather than a dash ("-") since the entire range is included in each separate piece.

NOTE: Use the distinguishing label and value found on the piece whenever possible in MDES (e.g., "pt.A," "no.3," etc.) provided that the label appears in the List of Approved Volume Designators. However, never repeat the same label in MDES that was used in the series voluming in CALL (or LCAL) even when the piece uses the same label. For example:
