Multiple volumes, Separate numbering -- consecutive -- with subcollection

• The CALL (or LCAL as required) will contain the base call number followed by the total range of the volumes included on this catalog record
• The CCAL ‡a for each individual item will contain the subcollection designation followed by a space
• The CCAL ‡b for each individual item will contain only the base call number
• The MDES for each individual item will contain the specific volume number(s) in that separate physical piece

This example shows a consecutively numbered, three volume set that is being cataloged to Reference with all three volumes listed in CALL, each volume separately listed in MDES, and the subcollection and base call number entered in CCAL.

NOTE: You must include a space after the subcollection and before the ‡b in CCAL so that the subcollection and call number display properly on the RLIN PAR screen. Without a space they run together. However, if the space is placed after the ‡b rather than before it, some IRIS programs will sort the call number incorrectly in those reports.
