Please follow these guidelines when barcoding paperbacks:
- For texts in Roman script, place barcode on the last printed page: Hold the book with spine
down, and place the barcode on the last printed page near the right cover.
- For texts in non-Roman scripts (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew, Yiddish, Persian) place
barcode on the last printed page. Hold book with spine down, and place the barcode on the last
printed page near the left cover.
- For Special Collections materials: Place barcodes on acid-free flags which are inserted
in the book.
Exception: Items stored in acid-free envelopes. The barcode will be placed
on the outside of the envelope, in the lower right corner.
