2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment (1920) granting women the right to vote. In celebration of this milestone, Rutgers Research Professor Emerita of History and authority on women's suffrage Ann D. Gordon will give a presentation on the fight for the vote in New Jersey. Activists organizing for women to gain voting rights were everywhere across the United States, island territories included.  The struggle for the vote is a national story chock full of local details, highlights of which will be explored in this presentation.
