Focusing on the role of libraries in promoting research collaborations, this workshop will introduce citizen science, the public participation in scientific research, as a way to develop and foster a sense of community in the remote learning environment. Using popular international and local projects as examples, the workshop will provide ideas how to select citizen science initiatives and how to participate, how to introduce the science behind a selected project, and how to integrate projects into the curriculum. It will also advocate potential partnerships between librarians and research/teaching faculty to develop resources for interested students on a variety of topics.

Workshop conducted via Zoom. Register to receive login information.
