40th anniversary of Signs journal – event @ Douglass Library, Nov 20th

Members of the Rutgers community and the general public are invited to an event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society. The event will be held on Thursday November 20th, from 3-5 pm, in the Mabel Smith Douglass Room in the Douglass Library.

The event will feature a panel discussion exploring four decades of feminist scholarship and feminist aesthetics in the journal. Using the Signs@40 virtual issue as their point of departure, panelists will consider the uses and limitations of digital humanities for interpreting the history of interdisciplinary feminist studies. Participants include Kate Stimpson, Susan Sidlauskas, Mary Hawkesworth, Kayo Denda, Andrew Mazzaschi, Andrew Goldstone, Susana Galan and Lindsey Whitmore.

The anniversary event is cosponsored by the Rutgers University Libraries. The Libraries are pleased to house the archives of the Signs journal from the first ten years after its founding. For more information on this archive, see:
