On Exhibit at Robeson Library: The Department of Childhood Studies
The Department of Childhood Studies: A Scholarship Celebration is on display at the Paul Robeson Library now through July 31, 2017.
The Department of Childhood Studies at Rutgers–Camden puts the issues, concepts, and debates that surround the study of children and childhoods at the center of its research and teaching missions. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the department aims both to theorize and historicize the figure of the child and to situate the study of children and childhoods within contemporary cultural and global contexts. The curriculum in the department is multidisciplinary in scope and purpose and provides students with a strong background in both humanistic and social science perspectives on children and their representations.
The exhibit highlights the academic achievements of the childhood studies faculty and includes monographs, book chapters, scholarly journal articles, artifacts, and other works of note.
From June 21 to 23, the Department of Childhood Studies at Rutgers–Camden is proudly sponsoring the Society for the History of Children and Youth Ninth Biennial Conference on the theme Transition, Transaction, and Transgression. For more information about the conference, please visit the society’s website.
