Introducing Articles+, a new way to search for articles

The Rutgers Libraries are pleased to introduce Articles+, a new tool that allows you to search for articles – and more – from hundreds of library databases using a single search box. Articles+ provides access to journals, newspapers, and magazines from a variety of major publishers and content providers. It also offers book chapters, conference papers, dissertations, and reviews. Although not comprehensive, Articles+ offers a single point of access to a large collection of library databases across a variety of academic disciplines, including:

  • Academic Search Premier
  • Business Source Premier
  • CINAHL
  • ERIC
  • JSTOR
  • Medline
  • ScienceDirect
  • Social Sciences Full Text
  • Web of Science
  • … and many more

Articles+ replaces Searchlight, the Libraries’ former meta-search product. Unlike Searchlight, which searched multiple databases on the fly, Articles+ is backed by a unified central index with high-quality indexing. As a result, it provides faster, more reliable, more relevant results. Beginning January 21st, Articles+ will replace Searchlight as the engine of the articles tab on the Libraries’ homepage.

Articles+ provides a useful starting point for finding a few useful articles on a research topic, researching a subject outside your field of expertise, or conducting interdisciplinary research across multiple subject areas. Articles+ does not cover all databases, nor does it include content from the library catalog or institutional repository. For coverage details, see What databases are included in Articles+?

Articles+ is a new product under ongoing development. Try Articles+ and tell us how we can improve it by clicking the feedback link on the search results page. For more information, including coverage details, see What is Articles+?
