Our Website Has a New Look, Same Great Services

December 20, 2017
website screengrab

Rutgers University Libraries' website has a new look and features quick links to our most popular services and today's hours for all locations.

Regular visitors to Rutgers University Libraries’ website will notice it has a refreshing new appearance. Most of the changes are cosmetic--a modern layout, a new banner, more legible fonts, a new color scheme, and easily identifiable blue links. Users will still find the latest news, featured collections, and events, and the main navigation bar (“Find… Services & Tools… Get Help…, etc) remains unchanged.

So, what is new?

  • Beneath the search box, we have included quick links to our most popular Resources and Services. With one click, you can find health sciences resources or book a group study room.
  • We’ve also made it easier to access My Library Account and to Ask a Librarian for help with eye-catching links at the top of the page.
  • Lastly, our new website highlights Today’s Hours for all of our locations.

We made these changes in response to Rutgers community feedback and following analysis of how our users navigate our website. The resulting design is modern and streamlined. Our goal is to make it simple for our users to find the information they need—whether that is a journal article, the hours at Robeson Library, or the closing date of a new exhibit.

We encourage you to let us know if you have additional ideas that would further improve the functionality or appearance of our website. This is the first of many planned changes to improve access to resources and services and we welcome your feedback along the way. In the coming weeks, you may be prompted to take a short survey—please take it, and let us know what you think. If you prefer to email us directly, please email rulweb@libraries.rutgers.edu.
