Who do you trust to protect your privacy? A conversation about threats, options, and actions - Thurs. Sept. 26

In recent months we've seen news stories about ...
- the National Security Agency spying scandal and the (depending on who you ask) whistle-blower or lawbreaker Edward Snowden,
- major corporations experiencing serious breaches of customer/user data
- online phishing schemes and their victims
All these developments can make you wonder:
Who can I really trust to protect my privacy - the government? the marketplace? or just me?:
What are the pros and cons of each option?:
And what can I do to support the approach I find most reliable?
Join Nancy Kranich, an instructor in the School of Communication and Information with expertise in privacy issues, for a guided conversation on the issues, the choices, and the options for action to best protect your privacy.
