Librarian at Robeson Library selected as Rutgers-Camden Civic Engagement Fellow

February 3, 2014

The Rutgers University Libraries congratulate Katie Elson Anderson, reference librarian at the Paul Robeson Library at Rutgers-Camden, who was selected as one of Rutgers-Camden's January 2014 class of Civic Engagement Faculty Fellows.

The Civic Engagement Faculty Fellows program prepares Rutgers-Camden faculty members to design and implement high quality Engaged Civic Learning (ECL) courses or activities. The core of the program is a two-day institute in which Fellows learn about the pedagogy of engagement and begin designing or redesigning courses or program plans. Two follow-up sessions are conducted later in the spring semester to review syllabi and plan for implementation.

Katie's proposed Civic Engagement project focuses on exploring potential partnerships and projects with the Camden County Public Library and other community partners, to reach out to the Camden community through the use of social media.

Katie is the third librarian at the Paul Robeson Library to have been selected as a Civic Engagement Faculty Fellow - Vibiana Cvetkovic and Julie Still participated in the program in previous semesters.

We look forward to learning more and reporting about Katie's work in the Civic Engagement Faculty Fellows program.
