Libraries Imaging Services now offers color-copying and e-reserves in color

The Libraries recent acquisition of a Cannon imageRUNNER C5800, located in the Imaging Services office in Alexander Library, has enabled several enhancements to library services during the fall semester.

One new feature is the availability of reduced cost color printing and copying. During regular hours of operation, library users in Alexander Library can now print in color from within the Imaging Services office at a rate of $.60 per page/side. Compared to the industry standard of $.79 to $1.00, this price is a lower cost alternative for color copying. In many cases, the new color copying at Imaging Services is also more cost effective than using a desktop ink jet printer in your dorm, office, or home because most printer ink costs seven times as much as an equal volume of champagne.

Another feature of the new machine is that it enables electronic reserves that call for color to be processed from the Imaging Services office. This new feature can be extremely beneficial in many disciplines and to faculty and students in art history, biological sciences, and ecology in particular.
