Welcome to Rutgers! Activities for first year & transfer students at the Libraries

The Rutgers University Libraries welcome all first year and transfer students to the university! We hope our librarians and staff get to meet many of you in the weeks and months ahead.

To help get ourselves acquainted, the Libraries have put together two enjoyable activities in September expressly designed for new students. We invite you to participate.

Can you locate some basic facts about the Libraries on our website? See if you can complete the Libraries' crossword puzzle, located (Sorry, retired in 2018):
Print out the puzzle, fill in the answers, and write your name and email address on the bottom of the page. Then drop the completed form in one of the "Libraries Puzzle Drawing" boxes in lobby, at
Alexander Library - College Ave Campus
John Cotton Dana Library - Newark campus
Kilmer Library - Livingston Campus
Library of Science and Medicine - Busch Campus
Puzzle contest ends Monday September 21st. A drawing will be held at the end of September and three winners will receive worthwhile prizes.

Want to get a feel for the library on your campus but don't have much time to spare? Try one of our light-hearted lightning-fast 20 minute tours. All 'Lightning tours' start in the lobby and all tour participants get a small humorous gift for participating.
