Talk by Int'l Bookbinding Expert & Designer

Silvia Rennie, an internationally renowned bookbinder and designer, will give a lecture and slide presentation at Rutgers on May 2nd at 6pm in the Scholarly Communication Center (4th floor) of Alexander Library, in New Brunswick.

Rennie, a native of Switzerland, along with her colleague Jan Sobota, are in the forefront of American avant garde binding design. Trained by the Swiss master binder Hugo Peller, she works in a refined French binding technique. Rennie's designs are in sympathy with the contents of the books while yet expressing her own distinct personality.

Ms. Rennie has lectured and presented workshops in Europe and in America, including New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. A reception will follow the lecture.
