Collection Development Statement

Works that are translations from foreign language publications into English are acquired as appropriate to the subject matter and the extent of the collection. Translations from English into foreign languages are normally not purchased except in exceptional cases of advanced research collections where comprehensive treatment is desired. Examples of these cases are the Daniel Defoe Collection in Special Collections where all editions and translations of the author are acquired and translations relevant to the study of the impact of an English work or author on another culture.
