Shelf Reading at LSM

Shelf reading is a relatively simple task for students. The point of it is to go through all of the current periodicals to find ones that need to be pulled or corrected for various reasons.

1. No Shelf Label - There are one or more journals on the shelf with no identifying label underneath it.

2. Empty Shelf - There is a label identifying a journal title, but nothing on the accompanying shelf above it.

3. Thicker Than 2 Inches - The journals have built up to the point where the stack of them is greater than 2 inches, which is the maximum amount of thickness allowable to bind.

4. 2 Years or Older - There are journals on the current shelf that are dated older than 2 years

5. Other - There is some other characteristic that the student feels warrants attention
