1. Announcements

Rose completed WebCT training with Mike and Melanie and would like to schedule training will Gil, Meghan and Linda over the next two week.

Summer work-study students assignments started on Monday 6/20, several new students have been assigned already to Alexander but very few work-study students have started at other units.

Reminder that Type 4 employees working more than 25 hrs a week cannot work more than 11 consecutive months without at least 4 weeks off every year.

2. Review updates to Student Guide

Rose passed around copies of the Student Guide with printed suggestions for updates from group members. Minor updates to billing responsibilities, dress code and payroll cycles will be made and distributed for group review in August’s meeting.

Rose shared a draft of “Emergency Procedures and Evacuations” with the group. The Emergency Procedures will be added to the Student Guide after the “Assisting in Public Services” section. After a group discussion updates will be made to include more detail on emergency evacuations and “safe spot” locations before the draft will be included in the Student Guide.

3. Job Descriptions – Circulation

Completed job descriptions will be distributed via email for the group to review before the end of the month. Rose would like all the drafts completed by the end of July so the coordinators can review the drafts in August.

The Circulation job description was passed around and reviewed by the group. Suggestions to expand the job duties as bullets and to include information on reserve circulation will be added.

4. WebCT updates and Training

Currently the RDS functional group is working on an RDS training tutorial and quiz questions. A call number tutorial and questions will be added to WebCT for students to use in September.

5. Annual Report

Group discussed group projects to be included in the annual reports. The group reviewed the functional group mid year report, which included the group’s projects through February. The Emergency Contact form and Student Appreciation Week parties will be included in the Annual Report.
