Shared User Services (SUS) plays a central coordinating role for shared library user services in the areas of discovery, the library website, the shared components of reference, and ongoing digital projects. We act centrally to coordinate user services that are shared by all Rutgers University libraries. Faculty and staff in SUS are responsible for coordinating work groups for major initiatives and for ensuring that there is appropriate input from all locations.
SUS provides the following services:
- Library Resource Discovery
Coordinate efforts at the libraries and as a library system to provide simple, intuitive, and seamless access to resources, regardless of format, that are expected by our students and faculty.

Coordinate the planning, design, maintenance, and evaluation of the Libraries web presence in order to improve the user experience, particularly for using the Libraries resources and services.

- Virtual Reference Services
Coordinate, evaluate, and promote virtual reference services such as chat and email reference.

- Digital Projects
Coordinate ongoing digital projects, and provide consultation, expertise, and guidance for new projects in the areas of project management, digital data curation, metadata design, rights management, and access.
