The National Institutes of Health's Office of Dietary Supplements has undertaken a series of initiatives that will lead to the development of a database providing the composition of dietary supplements derived from analytical chemical data. This site includes fact sheets about various dietary supplements, plus mobile apps and specific information for the geriatric user population. The content of the site is arranged in three basic indices: Health Information, News & Events, and Research & Funding. Health Information is subdivided into additional sections: Making Decisions, Consumer Protection, and Nutrient Recommendations. Under each subsection, users will find fact sheets about specific topics, such as drugs contained in supplements, or available tools, such as the Dietary Reference Intake calculator.
