Childhood Studies is international and cross-cultural in scope, transcending narrow geographical confines and analyzing modern and historical childhoods both locally and globally. The peer reviewed articles in this resource are written by eminent scholars in the various disciplines that comprise "Childhood Studies." Areas of coverage include topics in the humanities, social sciences, health sciences, public policy, as well as law and ethics.

The database can be searched by topic, keyword, or author of the article. The results that are retrieved include not only articles in the Oxford Bibliographies but also a bibliography of books, journal titles, and Web resources. The items in the bibliography are linked to the , WorldCat, and Google Books. After the user selects an item, links to related and forthcoming articles on the search topic are also displayed.
