Experience

I have been a health sciences librarian since 1993 when I started working for legacy UMDNJ which was merged with Rutgers in 2013.

I began my health sciences librarianship career as a cataloging librarian in the George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences, responsible for cataloging medical monographs for the Smith Library in Newark and Cooper Library in Camden. After five years in the Technical Services Dept, I transferred to work as  Information & Education Librarian at the Smith library where I provided reference services and created many interactive web forms such as Ask a Lbrarian and Register for a Class. In 2001, I transferred to work in the RWJ Library of the Health Sciencesas in New Brunswick first as Serials & Reference Librarian later Research Services/Information & Education Librarian till today.

As the Research Services Librarian, I assist researchers and research administrators to manage references and research using EndNote, conduct literature searches for systematic reviews, create biosketches using SciENcv, My Bibliography and ORCID, comply with NIH Public Access Policy, avoid publishing in questionable journals, and other services.

I have been teaching EndNote to faculty, students, and staff in the biological and health sciences since 1998. Considering many questions had been frequently asked, I created the EndNote Blog in 2008 so that users can find answers to their questions even when librarians are not readily available to help. The Blog has been well received. I also created EndNote Tutorials which show users step-by-step instructions on how to use EndNote effectively.

I chair the Research and Scholarly Environment Working Group (Jan 2017 - Present). Prior to the merger I chaired the libraries Campus Wide Information Systems (CWIS) (2009-2013) and also served as New Brunswick campus Voyager coordinator, and SFX KB co-administrator.

Prior to working for Rutgers, I was Director of the Plattefill Library in New York (1991-1993), responsible for the operation of the library.
