SPARK! (Showcase of Projects, Art, Research, and Knowledge) is Rutgers–Camden’s annual campuswide celebration of research, creativity, and collaboration. Reimagined from the former Research Week, SPARK! serves as a dynamic platform for undergraduate and graduate students to showcase projects across disciplines—ranging from sciences and arts to business—through exhibitions, presentations, and competitions.
Key Aspects of SPARK! at Rutgers-Camden:
- Showcase of Student Work: Features poster exhibitions, flash talks, and presentations, including the Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (CURCA) and Graduate Poster Exhibitions.
- Diverse Disciplines: Highlights projects in various fields such as biology (e.g., biodiversity, neuroscience), literature, gaming, and social sciences.
- Collaborative Events: Includes faculty lectures, research symposia, a School of Business pitch competition, and community-engaged scholarship, fostering connection across the campus community.
- Purpose: The initiative highlights the impact of student research, connects students with faculty mentors, and provides a space for demonstrating projects that explore and analyze new concepts.
- Timing: The event is held annually in the spring, featuring events like the Graduate Poster Exhibition and Undergraduate Research Award ceremonies.
SPARK! brings together faculty, students, and staff to celebrate innovation and research excellence at Rutgers–Camden.
