Caribbean Newspapers from the Twentieth Century
Caribbean Newspapers from the Twentieth Century is a collection of digitized newspapers originally published in the Caribbean region, including newspapers from Barbados, Cuba, Guyana, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, and more. It includes newspapers in English, French, Spanish, and Dutch. The newspapers in this collection were sourced from the microfilm collections at the George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida. Subject experts in Caribbean history and Caribbean newspaper publishing, including faculty from Caribbean universities, selected the newspapers for this collection and included both major newspapers and smaller presses. These newspapers provide perspectives of history (including colonialism and independence movements), politics, business and advertising, arts and culture, sports, and more in the Caribbean.
